Recently, SVACA Animal Control Officer Morris responded to rescue a
scared dog who sought shelter under the deck of a residence in Mountain View. The area was very narrow, steep and slippery due to the rain. She carefully made her way up the incline and crawled her way to the frightened canine who was in a deep hole.
She reached as far as she could but only touched the tip of the dog's tail. Being ever so gentle with her approach as to not further frighten the dog, she was eventually able to gently guide her out of the hole by coaxing her with food.
Officer Morris scanned the dog for a microchip and learned she was recently reported to be lost. The dog was later reunited with her family who had been frantically searching for her for several days.
