Adoptions
Adoption hours are DAILY, between the hours of 12:00pm to 5:00pm. Potential adopters may view adoptable animals on this page of the website. Walk-ins are always welcome, however, there could be a wait while we assist others. If you’d like to make an appointment, please complete a dog adoption survey, cat adoption survey or other animal adoption survey and submit it to staff@svaca.com. Our team will contact applicants to schedule an appointment.
Adoption is a wonderful way to find a new best friend and SVACA's friendly staff and volunteers do their all to make the adoption process fun and easy. Our goal is to make "perfect" matches so that our animals remain with their new guardians for the remainder of their lives.

Adopters must be at least 18 years old and have a government-issued photo ID.
Please do not bring pets to the center unless you have been instructed to do so by SVACA staff.
In certain circumstances, SVACA reserves the right to deny adoptions for cause.
It is much appreciated if potential adopters are able to bring a pet carrier or collar/leash for their new companion animal.
Fees
Fees cover the spay or neuter of the animal, initial appropriate vaccinations, a professional health examination and behavior evaluation, microchip, a temporary ID tag, a sample sized bag of age-appropriate food, and a coupon for a discount at a local companion animal retailer. SVACA member city residents also receive a license for their new companion. All fees are retained by SVACA and used to offset the cost of our operations; simply said, fees directly help the animals!

Suburban Cat Project
SVACA's Suburban Cat Project offers outdoor cats who aren't suited for indoor living a chance at a safe, forever home. If you have an enclosed backyard, shed, barn, horse stable, or rural property, we may have the perfect cat for you!
Who are Suburban Cats?
These are typically under-socialized cats or kittens with little to no human contact, making them unsuitable as indoor pets.
What We Provide
All Suburban Cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated (rabies and FVRCP), microchipped, treated for fleas, dewormed, and ear tipped. A suggested adoption donation helps us cover medical care, food, and shelter while the cats are in our care.
